I recently downloaded a movie form a website that was in the .divx format like the old divx disks players used to use, and i was wondering is there anyway to convert this .divx( not divx encoded .avi but .divx) into dvd format. You mean you have a .divx as in DivX Networks new (kinda) format? Or you actually mean the old Divx format? The old format required specific players connected to the phone line and as far as I know there is no way to play such discs back. However it really doesn't sound like that is what you have. DXN's DivX format is just an extension/hack of the avi container. It should convert the same as a regular avi, just that you lose advance features like menus and chapters. If it is DRM'ed though then you maybe stuck.
