I have downloaded an item that indicates that it is a DivX item and in mulitple languages. It shows this on the opening screen. I can play it on my computer with no problem. I burned it to a disc and my Sony DVD player won't play it. It usually always plays DivX. I put it through my regular *.avi converter (ImToo Avi converter) and the resulting file comes out 200 megs smaller than it started and in FRENCH. I don't understand Harpo in French......any suggestions. PS:Media Info says it is really a XviD and the following Format : AVI Format/Info : Audio Video Interleave Format/Family : RIFF File size : 697 MiB PlayTime : 1h 18mn Bit rate : 1230 Kbps Writing application : Nandub v1.0rc2 Writing library : Nandub build 1852/release
Thanks for your help When I set this avic program to the original downloaded file it says: FourCC description Code: xvid FourCC Used Codec : XVID with apparent options to change it to either MP41 MP42 Mp43 DIV3 How do I change it to a DivX ? Thanks again
Type divx in both boxes and apply. The player should really accept either, you notice that xvid is divx backwards If you have a hex viewer you see the entry near the beginning of the file.I think the dvd player looks for this information and all the changer does is convince it that it should play it. I don't know about the language part. Did Harpo speak?
When I typed DivX in both boxes, it plays with both English and French coming out together. Sorry, I don't know what a hex viewer is. Is this a hopeless case??
