My question is: how do I convert Divx files to a DVD in the highest quality possible. Now i'm using DVD Flick (freeware) and VSO ConvertXtoDVD to convert my video files to a DVD but I'm not very happy with these programs because: DVD Flick has no ability to create a nice-looking menu and I can't choose my video resize method (stretch, letterbox, ...). VSO convertXtoDVD has more functions like creating nice menus etc. but I don't like the quality of the output video. I've already looked on the internet for the highest quality converter which converts .avi-files (or other video files, like mpeg, matroska,...) to DVD like WinAVI2DVD (or something like that...), DIKO, and the 2 programs mentioned above... , but which one has the highest video quality output because there are so many programs to do this ??? nvanes P.S.: I also have Nero 9 installed on my computer and it also has an application to convert video files to DVD...
Another possibility is just getting a cheap DVD player that supports DIVX/AVI. You get them for as little as $35 retail... maybe less on line. I've gotten to the point that I make few DVD copies anymore... just encode to DIVX or XVID at 1.480megs a movie... full resolution 30fps. I can fit 3 on one disk.
dvdflick does have an option to change the output, you have to doubleclick the thumbnail. http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/10/dvdflick.jpg
I know I already have a DVD-player that supports Divx (and USB , I bought it for only €35) and yes it's very useful but I just want to burn these movies for someone who hasn't got a DVDplayer that supports Divx... Anyway thnx for the help.... I think I'll try the Filmmachine now.
ConvertXtoDVD will do a 2 pass encode. I find the quality to be pretty good when watching on our 42" tv
