I posted this in the divx bit by accident, so i dont reckon anyone who could help me has read it, which is why im posting it in here, where i should have done in the first place! sorry / Ive had a look round and cant find an answer to my prob, sorry if it is else where, but i havent seen it! My standard procedure is to open up a movie in virtual dub, save sound as a wav and recode the new wav with the original video in TMPEGenc as an mpeg which i split if necesary to fit on two svcd's problem - I open the divx file in virtual dub to take the wav file as usual and i get this message - Virtual dub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the entire audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. this may introduce up to 6570ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unnacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed wav file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder (bitrate 128.7 +- 11.8kbps) Now i thouight that by saving the wav file, that was uncompressing it. What am i suppose to do exactly cos its a damn good quality divx, but i need to make an svcd out of it, and id like them to talk the same time as they move their lips not 15 seconds before or after! I have found this a problem in other movies which ive given up with so please help.
OK..Even when useing Virtual-Dub to decompress the audio it can still sometimes still go out of Sync..I use this small tool called "Decompress.exe" that takes your AVI with Compressed VBR audio or any Compressed audio and turns it into an AVI file with Wav/PCM audio that you can Load right into tmpgenc and encode without Problems...It has never failed on me yet...If you can not find it doing a search you can PM me with your e-mail and I"ll send it to you...Cheers
Someone else has just recommended the same program as well, so il find it tonight and have a go, thanks alot for your help!
