ok, i have tried many, many times with many different programs to convert divx files i downloaded from kazaa into mpegs so i can make vcd's out of them. But in all of the different programs i always get an error saying either unsupported file type or unsuppoted audio. I tried converting the audio to .wav but it still wont work. Any help? Also here are the specs of a video i am trying to convert: File Name: Lord.of.the.Rings.The.Two.Towers.CD2.FIXED.DVDSCR.XViD-ViTE(1) Image Size: 640x272 Duration: 1:27:06 Audio bit rate: 135 kbs Audio format: Mpeg layer-3 Frame rate: 23 frames/ps Data Rate: 135 kbs Video sample size: 24 bit Video compression: XVid
you need to decompress the sound to (pcm which will make the file alot bigger) then use TMPGEnc to encode it to vcd dont for get you will need to split the file in to 2 cds i use AviSplitCalc 3.45 which will split all divx, xvid and it is vey easy to use hope i helped Budge.
Open your avi in VirtualDUB http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm Click video - direct stream copy, click audio - full processing mode. click audio again and click compression. click no compression pcm and click ok. now click file - save avi. The avi you save will be much larger than the source but TMPGEnc can read the audio in it now! On another note, the lotr2 (VITE xVid) you have downloaded has bad frames 8 minutes into the movie that could cause the sound to easily fall out of sync!
I tried with virtualdub, nandub, virtualdubmod, avifixed, divfixed and tonnes of other programs but I couldn't remove those bad frames without the audio going out of sync! However, if you look for the latest xvid codecs then apparently it will play straight through the bad frames and tmpgenc will work straight through them!
