I have a copy of Vegas Video 3 and a a DivX AVI. I want to put the avi onto a VCD. With Vegas, I can burn my workspace directly to VCD. However, I cannot get it to properly import the divx file. I have downloaded the latest bundle from divx.com. I can play these avi's in their player just fine. However, when I open them with Vegas Video, it adds the sound to track two and the video to track one. But the video is all black - no picture.

So I went and got the Nimo codec pack and installed the relevant components. Now when I open the avi's in Vegas, it displays the video properly, but there is no audio. It doesn't even create a second track for the audio. But the file still plays fine in the divx player.

Anyone know what codec I need, or what I need to do to be able to import a divx file into Vegas Video so that I can create a VCD with it?

    THanks

It just dawned on me that maybe Vegas Video doesn't have the proper mp3 plugin. As a test, I tried opening my DivX AVI in SoundForge6. It works fine. Although taking a long time to do so, it opened the file and will play both the audio and video. But I can't make a VCD with SoundForge. But I think I'm onto something...

Actually, I can open an mp3 audio track in Vegas, but still not an avi. Hrm.
