Hi, I am pretty new to all of this dvd burning stuff and I was wondering if there is a good dual layer burner for less than $100 out there?
Most dvdrw 16x DL drives are under $100 now. Some very good ones under $50. Look here. http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCategory.asp?SubCategory=5&page=1 Mort
I took a look around and read good things about the NEC-3540A. But one feature I am interested in is bitsetting. Are there any drives as good as the NEC-3540A with the ability to bitset?
Yes, the benq DW 16xx series, lite-ons, and LG drives are bitsetting capable. I like my benq a little better for burning than my lite-on because it is not as finicky about what media it likes. I have read very good things about the lite-on SOHW-1693S though. My litey will rip a little faster than my benq due to its SMART-X technology. http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/150 Mort
You Can Get Good Dual Layered 16x DVD Burners For as Low as $39 US... Like here: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1159842&Sku=A457-4012 Cheers
Thanks for the help. I decided on the nec-3540. Ultimately I decided that overall I liked what I saw in that drive better than any benq's liteons etc.. Also I saw where I can get a modded firmware to do bitsetting if I really need to.
