Hello, Recently I've been working with a Sony DRU-700A (VY08 after firmware update) and Sony DVD Architect 3.0c to create a menu based DVD. I used Verbatim DVD+R DL discs, and it always seemed that my DVDs never created properly, but then I tried playing them in my computer and it ran them rather well. Problem is, is these copies never work properly in regular DVD players, such as ones hooked into TVs. Is there a way to burn the discs so they work well in these players? Any help would be very appreciated. -Thanks
I had the same problem. Check out this guide for help. It worked very well for me. You need to "booktype" the +R disc to DVD-ROM and you should have no problems after that. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/guides.htm
I had that problem with Ed Wood. I used a DL for it but when I placed it in the player, it wouldn't read. I placed it in the PC, and it read very easily. Yes, it was booktyped to Rom. And of course it is Verbatim! But I then went around it by only burning the main title and now it plays everywhere. I think it was just the movie--not the media or software. I've burned plenty of DL discs that have always played flawlessly--which is why this was so odd.
