Hi all i have recently bought a 88cm dish technomate tm2600 and dreambox 500s .... now the problems start !! firstly when i got the box home i could get any power to the motor and after speaking to the fella i bought it off i hooked up a sky box which powered the motor so i knew it was the output on the dreambox so the guy swaped it for me .... telling me that the output power wasnt turned on ! next i tried to align the dish .. unsucessfully and what i thought to be wrong so i get a satalite guy round to align the dish, he couldnt lock on a signal so left it pointing at 13 degrees while this was happening the second dreambox froze and wouldnt work so got swapped for box 3 !! now i am back to square 1 no power to the motor and was wondering if there was a menu to turn this on ??? the guy wont sort till next week cos he is " busy " !! secondly why i cant lock on a signal ?? do i need a booster ?? i know it is long winded but any help would be greatly appericated !! thanx
try a different image. i am a long-term fan of pli for dm500. its well supported so if the motor doesn't work with this image it won't work with any image. are you familiar with how to set up the motor function on a dm500? if your sat guy can't pinpoint 28.2 well i say no more. the most basic of basic dishes can lock onto such a strong signal. it could possibly be the image that is causing the problem. while i no longer use pli it is the best image for a dm500
Totally agree fintan. And if the guy can't get that signal but can get 13e something seriously wrong in his head. Start from 0.8w to set up motorised dish thats all I can think of. Has this guy got any experience setting up a motorised setup before?
cheers for the replies .. yes the guy was from a sat firm who install !! cant figure out why i cant lock on !! do either of u guys know if there is a secret menu that i can check if there is power comin out of the box to power the motor ?? or if there is signal getting in ?? really got me confused ha ha !!
its been so long ago since i used the dm500 for anything complicated that i honestly cant remember. if i remember correctly you go to setup, transponder settings and then define as usals or disceq. as i said load pli and play with the settings. it most definitely should work
cheers for the help i have managed to re flash my box put i still dont have output power to my motor i know i have signal and i know the motor is working !! but i still cant work out why my box isnt powering the motor !! is there a engineers menu or something similar to check or turn the power on ?? dont worry sorted it now but still cant get signal lock !! any ideas ??
