All, Have you any idea what is the best hard drive to connect to the DM800. I plan to use the SATA interface for an external SATA drive and was hoping to buy a 0.5TB or 1TB drive. Anyone invested in similar. I hear mention of issues with the disk continually spinning even when the box is in standby. Anyone seen this Thanks, Fintan
Just to let you know that I bought a Lacie 1TB drive (Lacie is only a brand, internally the drive is in fact Hitachi). Plugged it in and the DM800 recognized it fine. So now have loads of recording space. Negative is that the darn fan does spin all the time. However I have found that if you turn off the drive when you are not recording and only turn it on when you want to use it the DM800 doesn't seem to mind and it will work fine
