I was given an external dvd burner as a christmas present. When I tried to burn an image into a dvd-r, an error popped up in the middle of the process. I've wasted five DVD-Rs so far after getting teh same error and trying to burn different images. This happened with Nero Express Essentials. I also tried to copy a dvd from an internal combo drive into a blank loaded into the external dvd burner and the DMA and CRC related error occured as well. The same error occurs with Nero CD-DVD Speed 4.61.2 beta (the test drive tool). From what I've read on the Internet, I am speculating that the problem occurs because I already have an internal cd/dvd combo drive as a master on the primary IDE channel. How do I fix this? I called a technician and i was told to disconnect the older combo drive in order to use the dvd-burner. Is there no way to use them both? Is there software that can remedy this? Both my external DVD burner and my internal combo drive are Lite-On. (btw, by combo drive, I mean a cd burner that can read dvds as well...)
