Do any of you know what the DMA setting does for a DVD Writer? I heard it can increase the rip and burn speed but am not too sure. I wanna make my pioneer 105 burn faster but last time I tried a new firmware it just fucked it up and made crap burns. Thanks for any info,
Usually, but it can sometimes screw ur dirve up to. If it works with it on - great, mine doesnt so its turned off. chris
Yes it does make it faster with DMA enabled. Also, install the new 1.33 hacked firmware, my Pioneer burns up to 3.4X on 2X discs with the new firmware.
The 105 burns max 4X. How much faster do you want it to burn? From what I have read firmware only makes it rip faster, does nothing for burning. 4X is the fastest you can burn provided you have 4X media.
I installed the new firmware 1.33 It made my DVDRWs not work at all. I captured a movie at 2x and it kept getting disc error on my player. Mine is a pioneer 105. In the end I reverted back to the old firmware, burning a DVD in 60 mins is a pain in the ass but at the end of the day a small sacrifice to pay considering it plays on all of my standalone players flawlessly like the original.
Why don't you just get some media that can burn at higher speeds? Ritek 4X can be had for around a buck 60 a piece if yer in the states. You can burn in 15 minutes. Most media on the market is 2x nowadays anyway. About 30 minutes.
Where are you getting 1.33 from. go to http://www.chrismccann.co.uk and click on downloads, then go to the Pioneer Section. It works fine with my system.
