    Hi,
On my secondary channel, the DVD writer is set as 'Ultra DMA Mode 4'.
The CD writer is 'Ultra DMA Mode 2'.
Does this mean that any data transfer to/from the DVD writer is throttled back to the same speed as the CD writer, or are they mutually exclusive?
My understanding of Hard Disks is that mixing types (on the same channel) results in the data transfer being held to the lower speed.

    hi

i think with older mobos it used to be that way going to lesser speed but as new mobos out now cope? but dont quote me!

but as it says 2 nd 4 i would guess all ok. my drives are HD 5 and cddrive 2 on same cable - no speed problems here!
