I never really think it will actually happen or even know if it is possible as of yet,but everything I see now for music is only capable of wav/mp3/atrac3 only CD compatible and ipod so forth.I was thinking wouldn't it be a good idea to make a dvd player that could support music in a car stereo system known as Digital Music Disc(actually a Dvd would be used, just the name I thought up at the moment). It sounds cool to me,and notice a 4.7Gig Dvd can hold a chitload of songs.I am not sure why it isn't present, but a PC drive can pick up Dvd discs with music on it.I am just trying to figure out why this hasn't happened yet or if it has why isn't it well known.I know some people would probably reject the idea, but think about this for a second alright.Cd discs are not as good as Dvd discs dealing with quality or even more space to store more of what you want.Let me know what you think of the idea.
I've wondered if anyone would release such a thing myself. DVD Players can pick up MP3s on DVD can't they? I think the idea is pretty good, as it sure is annoying when you got tons of songs that wont fit on a single CD. -Mike
I'm glad someone checked this out Mik3h,I was beginning to think I was the only one with this problem. Thanks man for checking it out and I am positive it can pick it up man.I had a Dvd with tons of songs, but I can only play it off my PC.The drives they sell are only Cd-Rom drives so they can only pick up Cd,but if you switch it to Dvd it might work.I get annoyed myself making numerous cd discs, because I can't fit everything I have on one cd.
I'd love it if my car MP3 player could handle DVDRs. Then I could fit about a thousand songs onto a disc! That'd be great!
Check this out I have a Cd player with Cassette deck handy to mess with, just trying to figure out a way to get a Dvd-Rom drive in it.Hahaha lol looks alot different once you get inside to be honest, but not much different just gotta replace the original Cd-Rom drive with a Dvd-Rom drive and then work from there on.I hope it works though, might have to be configured to play Dvd discs. You can never be to sure though unless you try though right. It might just be the firmware on the drive which makes it read only certain types of formats is what I am thinking.Gonna have to keep looking at it to see if I can put a Dvd-Rom drive in.I know it might sound crazy to some people, but you never know until you try it out.I probably won't lose anything, because I have a Dvd-Rom drive that I never use and a Cd player with Cassette deck that just sits in the garage collecting dust. The Cd player with Cassette deck doesn't look real fancy, but hopefully the Dvd-Rom drive makes up for it.I will keep working on it,because I am just like you trying my best to get a Dvd disc to play in my car so I can load that puppy up with all my music.
yeah, try it out and let me know, I'd be real interested to find out if this is possible. Good thinkin L-Burna!!
I was recently looking in a new crutchfield magazine and actually found a system that has recordable DVD MP3 and WMA support.Check this out this is what it says: JVC~KD-DV5100 In-dash DVD/CD/MP3 Player If you're building a mobile video system from the ground up, JVC's KD-DV5100 DVD player is a great starting point. Like a lot of in-dash players, it handles a wide variety of formats, including standard and recordable DVDs and CDs, plus MP3 and WMA CDs. But here's a feature that's unique to JVC:Giga MP3. Using your computer and appropriate software, you can burn up to 100 hours of MP3s or WMAs on a single blank DVD, and the 'DVD5100 will play all of them. That's an unprecendented amount of music, all on a single disc, right at your fingertips. To enjoy DVD video, connect an external video screen (our selection is online at cruthfield.com).You can add an iPod, or any portable music player, to the auxiliary input. A powerful built-in amplifier and helpful sound controls(the adjustable tone settings of "cEQ")make your music and movies sound forceful, vibrand, and lifelike. And for even more power and cleaner, clearer sound, the set of preamp outputs lets you connect an external amplifier to your system. JVC is serious about giving you system building options-and in the KD-DV5100,it shows. Alright I typed this up from the magazine I found it off of,crutchfield magazine. This is new,so they beat me to the punch on getting it out.I will just save up and buy it when I get a chance, sounds like an awesome car stereo system though.I would rather get this one than actually making one hahaha lol.I wouldn't say it isn't impossible though, after reading up on alot of websites making a stereo system isn't really hard.
damn, that looks pretty sweet! Probably a few hundred bucks at least...I just bought a new head unit a few months ago, so if I were to pick one of these up, it wouldn't be for a while. Maybe after this technology catches on and a few more companies start making it and they get cheaper hehehehe.
