I just bought a 2 year old DS Lite and coming from a hacked PSP, modding a DS Lite just seems too easy. With PSP you must have under a certain firmware and do all these hacks and use pandora's battery. With the DS Lite, no matter when it was bought you can just pop in a Acekard 2i and it works? Are there certain serial numbers it wont work on? Is there anyway to update your firmware and it wont work anymore? Im getting ready to order an Acekard 2i from DealExtreme if I can get a confirmation here. Thanks!
The Flash Cart it's self has firmware you need to download and update every so often, but yeah.. it's that easy. Buy a cart, format it, put the system files on it, throw roms on and that's it. Will work on any DS Lite, no chance at bricking it, nothing to worry about.
Wow, awesome. You would think nintendo would make it a little harder. The Wii is alot more complicated and they like to release updates to counter the homebrew. Thanks for the info!
With the release of the DSi and hybrid games, the war has escalated. There are several newer games (ex. M&L:Bowser's Inside Story) that do not immediately work on flashcarts due to new anti-piracy measures.
With ANY flashcart you may have to wait for firmware updates as the anti-piracy measures evolve. M&L: BIS works on my CycloDS with 1.56b3 as well. A hybrid game is a game that works on both DS and DSi and has special enhancements for play on the DSi.
