hey everyone. i have a brand new sandisk 2g sd card. i opened it, put it in my camera (showed i have 9386 pics left). i formatted it and showed 4768 pics left. this caught my attention. so i put the card in my card reader, i have one built-in to my laptop, i tried to browse my card and a "disk is write protected" error. so i try to format it again this time with my laptop. i got the same error. i put the card back in my camera and i get a "card error" message. i see the lock on the side of the card but its up (unlocked). i even tried to put the card in the camera and "dock" the camera in its cradle. still cant format the card. my comp "sees" it (it shows under "my computer").i got the card from zipzoomfly. is my card bad?

i apologize for the long post, but this is all i have done with the card.

I'm with David on this one...a lot of people have issues trying to format camera cards with XP....don't! Use the camera to format the card.
