    Hi Trojan101

Your HijackThis log is clean. Except for a few non-malware-related problems.

    1. You are using an outdated version of HijackThis. The latest version is 2.02

    2. Your Windows service pack is outdated. Go to update.microsoft.com to update your service pack from version 2 to 3.

    3. You have two antiviruses on your system. This is highly unrecommended unless you are using one as a on-demand scanner, which in your case, you are not. This is part of the reason you have 65 processes running. Uninstall or disable one of them.

    4. You are using a HP computer, which probably means that your system will have lots of HP applications running, thus causing your system to slow down. However, this isn't necessarily a problem, so don't be worried if you notice a lot of programs belonging to HP running on your computer.

    5. Update Java. Outdated Java may cause malware to get into your system. Remember to uninstall previous versions after you have updated to the latest one.

    6. Clean HijackThis logs does not equal clean computer. Even though your HijackThis log is clean, you might have malware without knowing it.

    That's it! Happy surfing.

    Best Regards :D

Thanks, its good to know my efforts to stay clean and security measures are not in vain. I saw what you said about the HijackThis log, but so far I haven't had any other symptoms of bad stuff, just all the processes raised my eyebrow. I'll fix the problems you mentioned. One question, how do I go about checking my Java and getting rid of the old stuff?

    Thanks again!

    Hey Trojan101

You can update Java by going to the Java download website and download the latest version of Java from there. After that, you can use the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to remove previous versions of Java.

    Best Regards :D
