I read that once you record something on a dvd disc you actually loose some part of it. Like when I would record a movie on a dvd disc without doing anything to it like encoding or ripping or an avi. file it would loose some content. Is that true?
I need to know fast becasue I'm going to buy a dvd burner today and tif what I heard is true I rather record on a normal cd.

    mariusz03,

You are not very clear in terms of your question. In the event you are talking about transcoding a DVD-9 to a DVD-5 using a tool like DVD Shrink. You will loose a small amount of detail in the new DVD. However, this is normally minor and todays tools are far better then ever.

I read in the guide that when you ripp avi. or other file types to dvd-video you loose some data.
