hey people, i was wondering, is it possible to use a cross over cable from my cable modem to the ps2 instead of getting a router? because i dont even know anything about them and i dont need one at all.

    thnx
edit: is there like a double adapter ethernet cable so i can plug in the modem and the ps2 on the one line?

yes you can do a direct ethernet connection from your modem to your Playstation 2, but you cant use a crossover cable, you need a ethernet cable

Get another network card its cheap maybe $10 in Aus, and setup ICS (internet conneection sharing) on the new card and let the bigpond run of your current one. I got three cards, one is my internet, one my ps2 and one wireless for my psp.

If your modem has that function, to run thru USB as some do.
Just remember you wont get any internet thru the ethernet till you enable the ICS internet connection sharing.
