Do I need Nero?

I encoded a .avi file to an MPEG with TMPGEnc. I have a burning program on my computer with an audio option and a data option (no video option). Would I be able to burn that MPEG file using the data option so that it would work on a DVD player? Or do I need a burning program like Nero?

Yes nero would be very nice...you need to burn your mpgs to vcd in a vcd format which nero does for you when you click on the vcd options.

I got Nero and it works wonderfully. Thanks for the responses.
