Do I need something other than Media Player to play divx files...

    Do I need something other than Media Player to play divx files... if so then what? they're .avi files about 700 megs.

    For DivX avi files, Windows Media Player is fine, you just need a video decoder (DivX, XviD, ffdshow, etc.), an AC3 decoder if it uses AC3 audio (unlikely for 700MB's), a DTS decoder if it uses DTS (really unlikely). Could also use aac audio, once again unlikely though. Chances are that it uses mp3 audio and windows includes a decoder for that.
