Hi guys, When I turn on my computer, there is a small pop-up saying "Connecting My ISP", dialing AT&T. I have to cancel and close it. And when I try to open the Internet explorer, the explorer comes up blank and it does the same thing again popping-up "Connecting My ISP". It takes a several minutes to connect to the homepage before anything would come up on explorer. And when I am online, I often lose the connection. When I click on something, it does not show up and it just keeps loading the page. It looks like it loses a connection. I can also tell because when I was downloading something, the download got cut off and stopped. And sometimes the "Connecting My ISP" popping up again. I called AT&T (my provider) and they checked & tested the line & connection. They said the signal was good. They said it was because my router was wearing out. Do I really need to get a new one? Can you guys suggest what suggest/confirm what the problem is? Thank you so much.
if router is seperate from modem as in not a modem/router combo then direct connect to the modem to see if still have a problem.
Thank you ddp. Sorry, I should have mentioned it clearer. I was talking about the modem. It's the modem that connect directly to my desktop. I don't have a router. Is there anyway that we can check whether it's going bad?
