alot of my freinds have xbox games and i was wondering if i just can copy and use them in my sons xbox.someone told me in another site that there was just a program you can use to play these games without moding it.any help would be great,thank you .
you will need some kind of mod....I'd look on xbox-scene.com and check out the forums on what others have to say about all the chips and mods that are available to you. Then decide what you want to do.
does your son play xbox live? if not i would highly reccomend "softmodding". Softmodding is easy and probably safer. (and it can be free!!!!) You are going to need to search around. If you have ever opened up your computer case before i would reccomend 'hotswapping' it pretty much requires you to power up your xbox, pull the IDE cable out and stick your computers IDE in. (check out my mediocore tutorial http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/198478) in there is links and instructions on to where to find the files and how to get them to your box. As for copying the games, its basically a matter of hooking a cable form your pc to your xbox and having the xbox read the game for you, since computers cant read xbox games. Anything xbox related i would refer to 'xbox-scene.com' they have all sorts of tuts and such. any help you might need you can PM me. (it seems like im one of the only ones on this website who is an advocate of softmodding)

Ya just be carefull, if you are caught with a modded box your LIVE account will be banned (well the xbox not the account itself.) softmodding can be a pain in the ass cause every time you want to go on live you will need to "un mod" your xbox, and when you want to play a game backup you will need to "re mod" it. some mod chips have a on and off switch. Just do some research so you can make an educated decision on what you want to do.

if u want a mod chio get the Xecuter 2.6 lite or Xecuter 3, you can shut the chip off and on with a switch and Microsoft will never be able to sense the chip on live if it's off. Just make sure when it's on, ur not connected to live, so always make sure the chip is off before u start the box if u wanna use Live, if not tur on the chip before u start up and unplug the ethernet cable and ur good to go.
