I just got myself brand new 105. Is it vital or not that I immediately update the firmware?
From reading the various boards it would appear that I should, yet Pioneer's own site says it is not required..?
Or should I just start burning, see how it goes and if it aint broke, dont fix it!
For the record, I've made one coaster from one attempt, tho I think using a 4X Bulk Paq might have something to do with that..
    Cheers Chaps :)

    I never upgraded the firmware.

    Works fine.

Cheap media will get you cheap results.

Don't let Oriphus pressure you into doing something you will regret later!

Thanks chaps, for the rather confusing advice!! :)

Is there anybody else who has upgraded their firmware and had a good or bad experience?

lol - Im not pressuring you. Im advising based on my own experiences. There have been known issues with upgrading the firmware, however, the site i provided you with gives you the opportunity to downgrade it again without any problems.

At the end of the day its your prerogative to upgrade.
