I read some tutorials about using usb hdd on slimline pstwo, but none of them mentioned the data transmission speed. ps2 usb are all 1.1, which means it will be very slow using usb hdd when playing games(thouth I haven't tried yet). Can anyone who has been there done that tell me more about this?

Just give me a reason for using usb hdd on my 77006, thanks.

to be honest the only thing that can be gained for you is possibly that your laser will not be used as much.
The game compatibility is not as good on external drives as internal, which that model can not have. And the slow USB ports make loading times pretty much the same as a disc, unlike internal which is faster. It is nice not to have to use or damage most of your discs but for the expense of doing it (HDD + USB Extreme) you would have to see if it was worth it to you.
