You can get banned. I personally don't use LIVE but it's a known fact that if you use a modded xbox on the your EEPROM will be banned sooner or later. In short, you will not have LIVE capabilities with that xbox unless you purchase an unbanned EEPROM. I hear they run for about 5 to 10 bucks each.
it is 100% safe as long as you DO NOT boot up with the mod chip on or with a softmod as long as you cold boot with a MS signed CD, meaning NO games from your hard drive, and NO home burned CDs you can get banned from games (like halo2) if you change the DLC files. but it is 100% safe if you know what you are doing
Sorry to make this some bad news but i was banned from live even though i always had my chip off. There are rumors that m$ has new techniques but that is debateable. Anyways if u log online with a chip on u WILL get banned. If you mod with ur chip off in halo 2 MM u will be banned on that GT for matchmaking. Take it from me don't use live with mods unless u are willing to get a new HD and EEprom which is a lot of time and agrivation. EVEN WITH YOR CHIP OFF THERE IS A CHANCE U WILL STILL GET BANNED.
