oh... i just put a fan beside my xbox for extra cooling

 

haha good thinking. You know whati would have like on the 360, an intake fan in the front, that would have helped a lot.

My 360 died becouse an E66,when i installed an update from my darkness game i got the error,the service said that it could not be reflashed becouse i interupted or stopped the update instalation and i had extreme firmware on my toshiba samsung ms28 or 25 im not sure,but thay say that they can not read the firmware so im in a bad situation,can this be repaired or do i need to replace my 360.

Help would be nice.

 

what ever happened to putting care in you work, here my bad f***ing experiance

basically my new-ish 360 (had 4 months) was making a strange smell inside after 15 mins play on dead rising, it felt hot so i turned it off... left it for two hours to cool down after looking on web seeing that 33-35% 360s fail( i panicked!) i turn it on again thinking everything went alright so i loaded my save of dead rising and their was a massive explosion noise from in side... i instantly unplugged it from the wall and open it up looked inside the case and their was this chemical all over my mobo and case... i screamed!!!

i rang m$ and they said without warranty they would give me an £80/$160 charge for repairs and delivery, i said it would be better if they could send me a replacement, they said "no chance mate"... i hung up

does anyone know which ones they are and if i could change em, cleaned up motherboad and case still smells odd though

any help would be great

Umm bro the warranty is three years now for the red rings and 1 year for normal failures. If your xbox is 4 months old you shouldnt have a problem, just call them up and get a replacement box. If this was more that one year ago(you mentioned 4 months though) tell them you have had a red ring and they will replace it for you. When they get the xbox they don't really check if it has been opened or not. Plus are you serious about the EXPLOSION? I have never heard of it exploding before.

 

I am on my 5th console now which has been working fine for about 2 months.

 

I'm on my 9th, it's been fine for a few weeks but I've only played it a couple of times due to school.

 

ive had exploding capacitors on my ABIT pc years ago that was tech fault and they send out a brand new one with free ram

the guy on the phone (dave) was so abnoxious... the warranty was voided when i opened it... at least i thought it voids it...

 

Then don't tell them you opened it.

i'm on my 3rd first one got 3rod and the second one got E74 (anyone knows how to fix this E74 error.

i can't even send for repair to MS whether my 360 is modded or unmodded because the country where i live don't have any MS warranty.

My 360 broke yesterday... first time. I guess I better get an outer cooler, otherwise...
