Hi fellow forum members. I hope someone can solve this for me. My understanding was that s-video does not carry sound, but I see a number of 7 pin s-video to 3 plug RCA converters (red/white/yellow). Does this mean that sound is supported? My HP Pavilion DV9000 has a 7 pin s-video outlet and the cable I have is a 7 pin going to a 4 pin and a single yellow RCA plug. My TV has a 4 pin socket so I get picture on TV but the yellow RCA plug seems to do nothing (does not give picture or sound)so what is its purpose? I can get sound by feeding line-out to the TV RCA audio plugs. Will be grateful for any info on this. Thanks in advance.
Those three plug converters are probably for RGB(component) cables. S-video does not carry an audio signal.
