mine doesn't & i've used other makes of 2.5" hd's with no problem. are you using 1 usb cable from enclosure to pc or 2? if using 1 cable then are you using external power? what size is the drive in gigs?

1 cable is not enough power for the 60gig as i need 2 cables for my 40gig. have you tried your back ports as found those to have a better chance to work?

you can simply delete a partition,

go start icon> right click on mycomputer icon> and select the Manage option...you can then delete a partition by right clicking on the partition and selecting "delete" under the disk management area
