Update your burner's firmware, there is version 1.17 available: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2071
Read this before flashing as it appears your firmware is not the issue,if you do decide to flash be sure it's for your drive model or you might make it useless http://www.tech-faq.com/io-device-error.shtml
The info in the link that you provided talks only about the I/O read error, which can also be due to encryption, dirty/scratched disc, corrupt data. The OP has a write error. Checking DMA and cable is a good point to start, however, a DMA error at writing with ImgBurn would look something like this: "Failed to Write Sectors 1993824 - 1993855 - Reason: Logical Unit Communication CRC Error (ULTRA-DMA/32)" @stry423 I think it is an incompatibility between your burner's firmware and the media that you are using. Your burner is a bit old. What discs are you using? What laptop do you have? If the firmware in the link provided does not work, try the laptop's manufacturer site. I hope is the DMA, that would be the easy way!
