I discovered that I need to burn DVD-Rom's in order for them to play on my DVD player at home; however, when I go to change book type in DVD Decrypter and click on NEC and select DVD+R then go to "new setting" and change to DVD-ROM I get an error that says "Failed". Why is this and how can I burn in DVD-ROM?
I have an Nec-3500AG, as far as I know you cannot change the booktype with the stock firmware on NEC drives. There is a new version supposedly coming out soon "they said march, but guess that wasn't too accurate" that will allow this as well as other features. You can however use "hacked" or modified firmware. I flashed mine with some modded F/W and now I can Booktype my +r's to Dvd-Rom. What model is your drive?
I have the 3520, it also doesn't support the booktype function. I flashed it with hacked firmware and now it's good to go
trp123, Did these respected members answer or help solve your problem? Maybe I'm grumpy today but I hate it when the original poster doesn't reply back with a thanks or at least ok.
