I just bought a new computer and I seriously don't if it had a dvd burner or not. One of them is SONY DVD-ROM DDU1615S SCSI CdRom Device, and the other is TSST corp CDRWDVD TS-H493A SCSI CdRom Device. Are either of those able to burn dvd's?
From what I can find, The Sony DVD Rom, is a Rom drive only. It's for watching dvds, not burning them. The other one (TSST corp CDRWDVD TS-H493A SCSI CdRom Device) is a Samsung Combo drive, which means it will burn cds (not dvds), and it's also a DVD Rom drive (same as the first one). If you want to burn dvds, you need to buy a dvd burner. You can buy one online for around $40 or maybe less. Some models are a little more. If you get one, I'd replace the Samsung Combo drive. A dvd burner will also burn cds.
