I am confused with this DVD Authoring thing, I thought that all I would have to do is to capture the video to my HD and then burn it through Nero but was told that I need to convert the captured MPEG-2 file to a .vob file then burn it, ok so I have Nero 6, how do I go about converting the captured file to vob, does Nero 6 do it? If not, which is the easiest way to achieve this please? Thanks.

thats right you need to convert your avi/mpeg to an mpeg2 compatible file so that your burner can reconize it as a dvd movie file and then nero can burn it to disc.

Nero can convert it but its not always 100% accurate>

Try the link below for a free encoder, should do the trick.Just install it, and then load your file into it.Make sure you put a different location for the converted file.Leave the settings to automatic and then press convert

    see how you go

    forgot to add the link.............[bold]DOH[/bold]

    here you go..................
