Does PS2 read VCD'S???

    cannot get a vcd to play in my ps2 tried several different mediums-any suggestions?

    From what I can tell and from experience with my PS2, reading VCD's isn't going to happen.

    However, the original playstation appears to be VCD compliant.

    I solved it by going out and buying a cheap standalone DVD player, and the VCD's that wouldn't work with my PS@ worked fine.
