I use AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 combination and I have just been copying movies straight up. My question is, if it's at a low % like 43%, when is the lower quality a problem? I have seen 40% DVDs played on 40+ Inch screen and they look fine...so my question is does the low % even matter?

The answer is kind of a loaded question. It all comes down to personal preference, different strokes for different folks. Some are fine with the quality of a transcoder, some with an encoder, and some with no compression who like to use DVD-9. As far as compression, again, comes down to personal preference. If you are happy with your results, then stick with it, don't base your preferences on someone elses. I definitely notice a difference on my 27" Sony with lower compression movies (50% or so), especially when a transcoder like DVD Shrink or CloneDVD2 are used, and better, but still noticable loss in quality with encoders. But these are what I have found by doing my own personal tests. Again, if you are happy with your results then keep doing what you are doing. Sorry for the rambling, but all comes down to what you are content with. :)
