Does the Archos AV500 play XVID?

    Hello. I'm thinking of buying the 100gig version of this machine but I have read conflicting reports about its ability to play XVID files. Has anyone successfully played XVID files on the AV500? I don't want the hassle of converting to DIVX or MP4.

    Yes they do indeed support Xvids and divx, and most other mp4's but it doesnot support divx 3 files for some reason.

    I have had mine since b4 christmas, and i love it!!

    P.S. it works as a usb host to almost all digital cameras as well as pen drives!!!
