hi guys i have a Jw ip35 pro now when i got it i could not access the sata modes but now a few bios updates later i can now. the main site says nothing about raid and a few peeps on forums off overclockers say it does not support raid but when i was overclocking this board last night i found out that in the onchip ide device section in the bios i can set the Sata Mode to 3 options IDE AHCI (think it is that) and Raid!? so does that mean i could raid this board up and hopfully save money any info would be great thanks

What RAID are you thinking of using? It's usually far better to use a proper RAID card than the onboard solution.

I don't think it supports RAID, the changelogs for the BIOS updates say nothing about RAID from what I looked at. As you noticed, the mainsite and some OC threads say it doesn't support RAID.

The "RAID" option maybe a bug due to the 6 SATAII ports, or maybe (although I don't know if its possible) RAID is a feature the manufactures are looking to add later via a BIOS update.

EDIT (by Pop_Smith): As sammorris said its better to just use a RAID card than to use onboard RAID even if it does have it.

Even if the RAID card doesn't support 3Gbps drives it will still detect them and should RAID them - you just lose a little speed, and only if you're using more than 2 drives.
