Hi folks - new here - hope U can help.

I currently have started downloading torrents and realized it takes me alot of time. I have heard that there is a way U can tweak your router to enable this to be considerably faster.

Does this actually work? If I do change something on the router, does it make my computer more vulnerable to other areas of concern, such as virus, etc?

I currently have a D-link 1310 router. Use Windows XP with a Sony Vaio PC, internet is DSL lite.

    Pls help - thanks!

I took my answer out since it didn't deal with your real question, which isbout torrenting speed, and NOT download speed..

There are some things you can do with the router that MAY open up more ports/connection, which could increase your torrenting speed.

I didn't see any advantage sfter I tried it, I set it back to standard.
