doese anyone know anything about hard drive use on the ps2? i want to know if there is a way to put a new hard drive into the new ps2 "slim"? or do i have to get an external hardrive through usb? hase any one also seen any solderless modchips for the new ps2 slim? or mabey any mod chips that you just lay into place, then solder the points as it says..?
things are not as easy and you wan't them to be. You can't use a regular hd in the slim ps2. You will eventually be able to use an external usb one, but the program is still in the works.
there is a way of connecting an internal hd to the slimline i found it on a website, i cant remember what website but i have the pics and the pinouts if anyone wants to see them. it involves opening the psTwo and im not sure how successful it was. but who ever posted the pics recconed it was working. one of the pics shows it working
there is a rumor goping around that there is a new HD program on the way that will let you use a USB external HDD with the new PSTwo called USB extreme but don't really know anything else about it
aye seen that. couldnt find were i got the pics from i know it wasnt there. i got three pics one which ive seen all over the place ant two more showing all the solder points and pinouts. any1 tried this??
I think its best to use a Laptop hard that way you use power from the PSTWO. Using a 3.5 drive need more voltage, maybe a drive enclosure of some kind.
yep, www.usbextreme.com is were it's being released and is supposed to be released sometime between the 1st - 10th march
Perhaps the 'USB Extreme' we are waiting for could also be used with the soon-to-be-released SONY PSP (with its USB 2.0)....otherwise, the Sony's Memory Stick Pro DUO (expensive!) is the only option for watching MPEG4 - based video on the PSP, for now.
Yes the usb extreme will be released soon at , but fior playing mp4s i doubt thatll work. Also the sony psp's movie player is high level, i got a psp , and it is very promising.
