hi , i was reading about the software vob blanker and it says it can fix problems with dvd 's , does this program hurt or take any of the quality away or does it keep teh quality the same . thanks for any help .
Hi, I use an older version of vobb (2.0.0.2). This version did not alter quality in any way. However when I used a newer version, I thought my picture looked grainier.
you aren't altering any of the files, only removing files that are going to cause you problems. It should not affect the picture quality in any way shape or form.
I would normally agree with you but even in the digital domain, in any operation, even copying, errors can take place, no matter how small the operation.Some operators (functions) create smaller errors than others, but nonetheless errors do creep in.I cannot say for certainty that vobb induces any errors into the digital data even when only copying files, but after the operation of just blanking titles and copying files, the newer versions after 2.0.0.2 appeared to my eyes to be grainier ( more pixillated) than the before digital data( and this is viwed on a 720p display).
and I think it's your imagination... I never noticed a thing on the 52". By this logic, opening a video file could cause it to lose quality.
I've experienced the same results, but I think it was operator error as it only happened the first time I used the program.
Possibly it is that I'm just a picky guy. And opening a file is a passsive operation vs an active operation as copying is.Most errors occur in the active and not passive state.
VobBlanker rocks. It does not shrink or recode It just gets rid of all the things you won't ever watch. it used to decrypt but hasent been updated for a very long time. The newest version wont work if you have Any DVD runnning I use version 2.1.0.2. works like a charm.
