    Hi there.

I have been through this forum for a while now and done whats requested by downloading codecs and reinstalling, downloading and reinstalling. I still have the same problem. What the problem is is that last week my vids and avi's worked fine in all my apps (winamp, WMP10, Zoom player and VLC player) Now this week something went wrong. Everytime I start a .Avi or any other media type my app opens, I get sound but no Video. In WMP and WINAMP as well as Zoom I get a green screen, Not a haze like in another forum, but green lines and faintly in the background I can see the "Video" outline. As well which is weird is that when I click on the file in Explorer it gives my "preview" in the left bar, but that seems to be "distorted" as well. I know that to format will fix it, But I don't want to do all that seeing that I am busy making a movie and I don't wanna set things up again.

What do I do I have very little hope in fixing the problem outside "formatting".

Please help if anyone can (I trust in the force :p)

    Thanx

Well if VLC is effected then it isn't a codec/filter issue since it uses its own. The leaves your video card drivers/settings and DirectX version/settings.

Well I did install older graphics card drivers. Forceware 78.05 because I windows kept crashing with the 81.85 versions so maybe I should uninstall and back track to earlier revisions and see what happens.
