Just got my hands on Doom 3 last night (local store received it's Delivery) my friend is the store mgr. and he let his staff and me get our copies of Doom and I must say this game does live up to the hype, and it does run well on low end system. I tested it on my old Dell Dimension 4300 1.6 GHz(with Radeon 9600 pro and a 1 gig of ram) I can tell you that it plays nicely. It looks beter on my main rig (Amd 2400+ Radeon 9800 Pro). _ _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.[/small]

Doom is a great game? REmember dat first doom when it was introduced way back? Great changes!! luv da game!
Doom3 has got to be one of the most gorgeous games I've played. I love the darkness and all the creepy sounds and screaming. The pucker factor definitely goes up when it's pitch black and you have to use the flashlight to find your target, switch to your weapon and hope they haven't moved too much! A very well made game and worth the wait for me _X_X_X_X_X_[small] JMLS-166S/Plextor PX-708A/Plextor Premium My Movies! http://www.intervocative.com/dvdcollection.aspx/Rephaim Got Indie? http://cdbaby.com/[/small]
Thing is, it really is sometimes overly dark to enjoy the graphics. Plus the fact that you can't get a torch hat/nightvision in the year 2050 is a bit stupid. Although switching from a weapon to the flashlight enhances the atomsphere a lot.
I just got through a part where it was pitch friggin black with the zombie guys coming at me so I had to light them up with the flashlight to get a bead on them, switch to the shotgun, shoot and hope they hadn't moved too far then switch back to the flashlight to see if I even nailed them. I love the pucker factor from scenes like that! _X_X_X_X_X_[small] JMLS-166S/Plextor PX-708A/Plextor Premium My Movies! http://www.intervocative.com/dvdcollection.aspx/Rephaim Got Indie? http://cdbaby.com/[/small]
There is already a duct tape mod to tape the flashlight to a couple of the guns so you don't have to switch back and forth: http://ducttape.glenmurphy.com/
Oh yeah, there's also flashlights for loads of other weapons now! By the way, who downloaded the Nitro Gore mod? It's so good. I literally redecorate the whole room with red dripping blood! I should be a Home Designer.
