DOWNCONVERTER HELP PLEASE

    Hi again guys.Iv just got my hands on 2 box-t's.Flashed the lot.I set up 1 for my dad and works a dream.he has chorus mmds in kildare area by the way.i just moved into an appartment myself and the previous occupant left an mmds aerial intact minus downconverter.i ran my da's chorus box off it using d.converter wit no probs an tried my box-t without the d.converter wit obviously no joy.my question is does the downconverter i require have to be particular or can i use any one available.also can u point me in the rite direction to get 1 as id love it in for the chelsea game the w.end.would i be able to get one from chorus..many thanks..

    Is this the small black box behind the tele that you put the cable from the wall into the aerial port and then connect a second cable from the box into the tele?

    Thats a power insertor, the downconvertor is usually on the aerial feedarm.

    Power supply/downconverter..not on the older aerials.as i said i ran a chorus box wit the original dc/ps wit no probs but wouldn run without it.box cant unscramble the strong signal..anyway anyone no wer in ireland i can get my hands on 1..urgently needed as im a big united fan and dont wanna miss another min of rooney workin the magic on the way to another title..

    Hi ,

    you said in your original post you ran your box without the downcoverter? that doesnt make sense. As Scouser said the downconverter in normally in the feedarm. If your Dad's box works it would appear to me that if your also receiving a strong signal that you may have a couple of problems. Please do a scan to make sure you have channels tuned into chorus ( you may have presets for NTL) and second make sure you turn on the EMU.

    Again thanks mate but no i ran it wit my dads power supply.My mistake the d/convertor is in the aerial feed..tried my t-box wit his power supply from chorus and presto.everything perfect to a t..just trying to get my hands on a power supply is the issue now..Many thanks again guys!!
