    I have upgraded my DVD burner to 2.0h for a while ago. It still works to burn DVD-R and DVD-RW and CD-RW. I have now bought a spindle pack with Verbatim super azo 48x and these wont work. I get a power calibration error when i try to burn. What i can understand this problem is bacause the media/firmware. I have found the previous firmware and wonder if i can downgrade with this software i have found.

    Are you burning with Nero? If so, I think I may have the solution, and it is in fact NOT bad firmware or media. Just keep it and try these steps:
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    1) On your desktop, click START >> Control Panel >> administrative tools
    2) click on services
    3) browse down to IMAPI CD BURNING COM SERVICE
    4) right click (on IMAPI) then select properties
    5) in the middle of the window it will say start up type. click on the arrow to the right and select disabled.
    8) make sure you click APPLY
    Notice Nero will also start faster.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I got this from another forum, and it solved the problem for me. Note that this applies to NERO, and may or may not work with other software. The problem is probably because of windows XP, or so I've heard. Wow this is my first post of trying to help someone here. :) GL

    All works fine now..Thanks for the tip, but it was not quite as you told me.

    This service was not started at all, so i start it instead of stop it and that helped. :)

    Oh no.....it wont work. One disc worked fine, but the next one now is the same problem.

    I think i need to go for the downgrade. Is it possible to do that?
