Tell you what, the best evidence is? Use a newly purchased PSP, register it with them, download the latest sofware, then perform system restore the next day & see. (Because that's pretty much what I did!)
Get this now! Their PSP web site is called 'Yourpsp.com' which in trade terms means that they do not own your PSP you do & you have the right to say what is on your PSP not them! SO!!!!! If you therefore choose not to have a video file, game file or software file on there provided by which you've chosen to accept at the time via download, then, you have the right to take it away, but only within the time period that the law allows you to do so! But! Are they gonna tell how you do this? NO...

I figured out how to downgrade from 3.03, but it goes by thinking way outside the box and also may only be available to a few of you. I bought my PSP from BestBuy sometime last year and it came with version 1.5. I was as unsuspecting as any other regular platform gamer with limited to little knowledge of any of the PSP's online hackabilities so I eagerly downloaded the newest version content that Sony were worth putting my faith in to. Low and behold after researching the means of acquiring specific online material for my PSP, I realized the error. Thankfully, I took BestBuy's product replacement plan which entitles me to a complete hardware replacement exactly as purchased. Now I say exactly as purchased because initially, the IT guy I spoke with at BestBuy was sure that I'd have to have to settle for a PSP with the lastest software already integrated but when I went in to the stipulations stated clearly in the PRP (Product Replacement Plan) they had no choice but to send me a PSP with the original software. Now before anyone asks, I can't get YouTube footage of this cause I'm sure to look like an idiot going back a second time with a camcorder to iillustrate the legitimacy of my claim, but for those of you who are truly on here to come about a way of downgrading, sometimes technical knowhow isn't required... although it is useful 99% of the rest of the time. Just a suggestion to those who may be able to use it. And so you all know, most PRP's last two years. Best of luck. :)

I believe you may have tried my suggestion to the extent of performing tasks after the 7 day period.

Within the seven day pay period don't alter any dates or times (Only do this after 7 days!), just do a simple system default restore within your psp! It does work! I seen it with my own eyes I eat my own hat. The only other thing I guess is the Sony web site remembers your previous registering & downloads if any & incorperates it into new software to stumble you!

well if you have an unpatched version of the gta:lcs umd then i reccomend upgrading to official fw3.03 then loading up the 3.03 downgrader, its pretty straight forwards, you cant really brick unless you are a dumbass!!
just read the readme for instructions in the downgrader for where to put the files, run the umd(it should load the 3.03 hen automattically then put you back on the xbm) then run the x.yz update file, accept the terms and away you go to 1.5.
after doing this i reccomend upgrading you psp to 3.03OE-C or OE-B(depending on how literate you are with the flash0 and flash1 folders, if you have no clue what those are..OE-B is the way for you to go so you can customize with apps instead of just writing to flash0 manually!!)
this is the easiest downgrade process i have seen so far so you should have no problems.
thank you team noobz!!!...and of course Dark_Alex,,:)
