i have downloaded my movies and they are in my download folder. i have downloaded dvd shrink, dvd decrypter, and image burn. i tried the convertex to dvd trial and it worked great i dont really want to buy it. so my question is how do i operate the other software to put my movies on a dvdr disc? i tried the other software but it kept saying it could not find blah blah blah ts_ifo files. which i guess my movies have at the end of the file.
when u say u have downloaded your movies, do you mean movies you own and u put them on your harddrive?
in order to put them on a dvd, u will have to convert them bcuz d/l movies usually are .avi files. are these the files u have?
Pardon me for butting in here 2put but if your purchase of Nero worked out, you can use that to convert and burn, otherwise, unless you have a standalone that recognizes data, as s2god says you have to convert the files and then an authoring program and a burning program (like ImgBurn) is needed. That's why VSO was suggested, it does it all and very well. The reason the ts files can't be found is because they aren't there, authoring creates them from converted mpg. Anyway, let us know if Nero went okay and a guide can be provided.
the nero hasn't arrived yet. so i was trying the others but am stuck and i started to read the info in the different forums and now i am sort of confused
It is confusing at first but will become second nature. The easiest way at first is a 1 step program like VSO (very good) or Nero (also good). WinAvi will also do what you need and fast but without a menu and isn't free. I still think VSO is the way to go, it is widely used and has good support. Your only other option is an encoder and an authoring program. You could use ImgBurn to burn. A way to skip a step is a program like Ulead MovieFactory that authors and burns but isn't free either. Ulead used to encode back at version 2 but they're at 5 now, I think, and I don't if it still does.
i tried the trial version of convertx and it was easy. i did one of my movies and it played in my stand alone player and it was great. because the nero won't be in untill next week. i was getting impatient.
Yep, it's easy but that watermark in the trial has to go, lol. Here is a guide you can use for Nero, if it works, but like you said, for 2 bucks, what the hey. I've been having trouble with links not highlighting, so, if that's the case, just copy it:http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946
