ok i use limewire to d/l music mostly, but since i have a cable modem, i decided to d/l a movie and i want to burn it to a dvd now, i have a dvd burner that i installed on my cpu and i have the nero suite that came with it but it won't let me burn a dvd from the movie file on my com?!?
MPEG and if this matter is is compressed using divx wel nvm on limewire it says the typ is avi [EDIT]
Thats unusual as I can burn my MPEG files in NeroVisionExpress. OK just read your edit, AVI files. Check out the guide by alkohol, in my sig on how to burn AVI using Nero.
alright i will read over it, also if this helps n/e thing the reason it won't burn is when i go to select it it doesn't show up like it isn't there...
If you have a legitimate copy of Nero then go to http://www.nero and download package 2, you will need your s/n that came with Nero.
Well here we strike a problem, aparently you have to have the full version, but it's worth a try. Give it a go and see if it accepts you s/n from oem.
There are other progs that are actually free but as you already have Nero I was trying to assist you with an easy update. Going to a web site and clicking a few buttons is not a hard thing to do. If you want a good reliable prog then I would give it a go. You could always download following 2 free progs made by VSO..DivxToDVD and CopyToDVD.. the first prog converts the files and the 2nd burns to DVD. Should look like this
You will find both progs in the software section, give them a go and let us know how you get on, Cheers.
i am converting it now so all looks good so far, it did say that these weren't free after i d/l it but said i could "try" it..
I am pretty sure CopyToDVD is free, I will do a search and try for the older (and better) version of DivxToDVD and get back to you. This may help you http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/v...
The Nero trial is full function, it has to be reloaded periodically. No limit on the trials. It just gets to be a pain and many people give up and buy it. Nero Vision 4 is the conversion app in Nero 7. I was going to say VSO apps are mostly retail, but with trials. You caught that one. DivXToDVD was free at one time, but when VSO got it out of beta, it went retail and is now DivXToDVD 2. BTW, did you notice there is a separate forum set up for DivX/XVid?
De nada. Glad you got it under control. Good burning. Did I mention WinAVI Video Converter. It's another easy to use app. It has a free trial, but it has a logo on the screen. Worth a try to see if you like it. It doesn't cost anything to try it.
