went thru the loader, chose correct port and clicked start and getting the msg "cant get past "cant open serial port com 2, pls check if the com port has the following parameters ........." anyone any suggestions? its starting to break my heart !!
this is the message i get and for the life of me i cant figure out what to do. a little "stb editor" box appears immediately after i press "start" to download the stuff with - "Cant open serial portComp 1 Please check if the com port has the following parameters. right click MY COMPUTER > PROPERTIES > DEVICE MANAGER > PORTS (COM & LPT) > PORT SETTINGS .. fairly certain i did something here, printer port to COM1 or something, thats what fixed it for me. vague because all i see now is PRINTER PORT (LPT1) and not sure if thats the tweak i made.. doesn't feel like it yknow? sorry for the bout of amnesia but try that! same error message i had so report back
JT133 posted it - didn't realize i saw it on this forum! "USB to COM port adapters can cause a lot of trouble.. Right click on my computer, select "Properties", select "Device Manager" (it's in the Hardware tab on Windows XP), find your USB adapter in their and right click on it, once again select properties Once in the properties of your adapter, there should be an option within to change the COM port and settings. Change the COM port to COM1 and the other settings to match the parameters that STB editor requires. I don't have an adapter to hand so I can't guide you through the whole process, sorry.
