Downloading on Campus!

I live on a unversity campus which has wifi all over and lan in all the rooms. it runs at very high speeds, but to to freeloaders on the internet they have spent a lot of money this year and blocked many ports to my knowledge and torrents among many other downloading programs do not work. i dont mind about all the othere crap, but torrents are my life, and i have no way of downloading anything, but from html sights. please suggest a new downloading method, or maybe a way to get around it. this is an ongoing problem at many universities today. please help!?!?

Second of all, nobody will probably help you with this matter as it deals with piracy.
