Hi, Just wondering does anyone know of any free download programmes for making your film downloads on p2p on to dvd's. When I signed up to a site they promised to give you "Uleads movie factory3" but It wont download for some reason and then page expires. So just wanted a bit of advice on best programmes.

Hi, thanks for the advice, I'm slowly but surely gettin there, as u can prob tell I'm still a novice to all this. I downloaded what you suggested and its converting fine but it prompted me to install " CopytoDvd" to write the conversion to the blank dvd. I did install that on a 21 day trial so thats ok and I have to say it worked fine. The next thing I wanted to find out was, when you do download movies or whatever, will the quality be good or is it poor ? The clip I downloaded was poor on my pc and I couldn't sit and watch it ! My dvd player is made in my tv and didn't support the copy so there for I dont know how it will look on an actual tv?? Also will most downloads work on any dvd players?? Thanks again

    hi

you have opened a big can of worms here! there is alot to it re compatibility, apps used, files used!

but basically its possible to view on a tv, aslong as good media is used the files are good, and the apps are good!

avi to mpeg to dvd is 2 losses of quailty, but apps like avi2dvd and film machine with good encoders try to keep the picture best it can!

it all depends what the file is ike to start with, if the file is spot on excellant quailty you stand a good chance of a good output!

but if the first files sucks then dont waste your time! bin it!

    Hello sandisk,

You don't need to burn with CopyToDVD.

I unselect this option, and just keep the VIDEO_TS dir it created.

    I then burn with Nero.

Honestly, I think VSO DivXtoDVD does a nice job..

Hi, thanks for that advice Rotary, so basically I could download a film and it could be good quality or bad. Like I said im only a novice to all this but hopefully SOME day i'll get there! Hi Cougar_ii, yeah I tried burning with nero but it said see the website for nero updates, you need nero-rom update. That's the reason im using CopytoDvd. It seems to be working fine, the copied disc is working in my pc{not very good quality}, but not working in my dvd player so I take it it doesn't support it, can you tell me if this is common ? And would usually the copied versions work say in the ps2 ?

    hi

the disc could have a compatibilty issue with your standalone player?

use dvdinfo pro to tell us the id code inside the disc!

    same for the ps2!

i use RITEK GO5 dye/discs and work in pc/ps2/stanalone players

Hello Rotary, so there are certain disc's out there that will work on my player and ps2 regardless of the type of download. What exactly is dvdinfo pro ? Also could I ask you, when I navigate thru my browser on copytodvd it has like an "autocomplete" of about 20 files that I previously looked for but that are now deleted. Is there any way of deleteing this history ? Or turning off this autocomplete. All other autocomplete's I can ajust, but this ???

Thanks 4 that essential info on the dvdinfo! Yeah the autocomplete, you know if you ever go to search on your pc and you and your looking "pictures" and as soon as you type the letter P, you get a list of everything you ever looked for starting with the letter "p". It's very annoying when the list gets too big, you could have a list of 20 subjects, thats why i always turn mine off. But with the browsers with nero and dvdcopy, I havn't a clue how to turn it off. And as soon as I navigate with their browser and type in a letter, I'm gettin a list of files that are long deleted.
